2 Gospel Choirs

Join the Redwood Interfaith Gospel Choir with special guests, the 50-member Oakland Interfaith Community Choir, on Saturday, May 30, for a night of high-energy gospel and spiritual music.

This is the Redwood Choir’s 34th annual end-of-season concert. Doors open at 6 p.m. at the Eureka Theater, 612 F St., and the concert starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available on eventbrite.com and at the door.

Jim Hubbard and Jenni Simpson will direct. The band includes Justin Hoopes, David Childers, Tim Claasen, Mike Kimmel and Lettie Dyer.

The choir, inspired by the Oakland choir’s appearance in Arcata, formed in 1992, a time of racial and social unrest following the Rodney King beating.
