Volunteer Expo — Make a Difference!

 

The Volunteer Expo will bring together dozens of local organizations and community members who might like working with them to make a difference in Humboldt County.

Sponsored by the Area 1 Agency on Aging, the Expo runs from 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, at the Adorni Center Gymnasium, 1011 Waterfront Drive, Eureka. This free event is open to anyone interested in volunteering, including students, retirees, professionals or entire families. Meet local organizations that offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities and discover meaningful ways to contribute time and talents.

More than 30 local organizations, ranging from Friends of the Eel River and the Gene Lucas Community Center in Fortuna, the Humboldt Senior Resource Center and Keep Eureka Beautiful, Friends of the Dunes, Humboldt Roller Derby, Tri-County Independent Living, the Potawot Community Food Garden, Hospice of Humboldt, the Humboldt Literacy Project and many others will be there (go to a1aa.org/volunteerexpo/ for the full list and details).

If you’re looking for ways to give back, get involved or just looking for something to do, this event is for you. Match your interests, values, skills and time to a group or effort you believe in. Because you can make a difference.
