Support Your Local Press
Humboldt County is blessed with a variety of engaged local news outlets, a rarity in this era of dwindling local news and spreading “news deserts” across America.
One of these news sources, of course, is Senior News, your free community newspaper offered by Humboldt Senior Resource Center (HSRC) since 1981. It is extraordinarily rare for a senior center to offer this level of support for community connectedness, giving voice to issues of wide interest to older adults and their families.
The unofficial Senior News motto is “For Humboldters 50+, and everyone who knows one or wants to be one someday.” That’s a pretty broad target demographic, but we think our stories speak to people of all ages.
How about supporting Senior News and its important role in Humboldt life with a year’s subscription? For only $36, you can receive the paper in your mail. Sure, you can pick up a copy free at supporting businesses, but what if you forget or they’re all gone?
Subscribe today to support Senior News and your voice in the community. It’s for everybody. Send stories to the editor at tpease@humsenior.org. And call 707-443-9747 to subscribe, or send a check for $36 to Senior News, 1910 California St., Eureka 95501. It’s good news.
