Grand Jury Members Wanted

Humboldt County seeks citizens to serve as members of the county Civil Grand Jury for the 2026-27 term, beginning July 1.

The jury consists of 19 members plus alternates to act as an independent body reviewing and investigating citizen complaints about the workings of city and county government as well as other tax-supported and nonprofit agencies. The jury is made up of a cross-section of Humboldt County residents, and any citizen 18 and older is encouraged to apply.

The jury meets in person once a week and once weekly via Zoom; the schedule varies and the time commitment ranges from 10-30 hours/week.

The grand jury publishes findings and reports, recommending improvements to the quality and effectiveness of local government.
