Small Dog, Big Heart

By Gisela Colbert

Maggie is a Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix who lives with Gisela Colbert at Timber Ridge in McKinleyville. She is 17½ and has been Gisela’s constant companion since she was an even tinier puppy.

When she was a year old, Maggie joined Furry Friends Therapy Dogs and visited hospitals, nursing homes and schools. “She always brought smiles to everyone,” Gisela said.

Sometimes, they went to the library and the kids would read to Maggie. “Maggie has helped me over some hard times,” Gisela said.
